This Non-profit OS Notion Template is the product of several iterations of a system I designed for remote/hybrid non-profit startups. It is simple, streamlined, automated, and easy to navigate.

The Mission, Vision, & Values page not only documents your non-profit organization's mission and vision statements—it also offers a Values database where your team can document examples of your values in action.

Let's say one of your organizational values is sustainability. Wouldn't it be awesome if the Sustainability page featured press coverage and community testimonials and photo evidence highlighting your organization's sustainability initiatives?

The Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) page provides clarity and understanding about what each team member should prioritize and how their work contributes to the organization’s mission. The purpose of OKRs is to drive progress and growth, both personally and professionally.

There are 3 databases involved in this system- Objectives, Key Results, and Tasks. This means that each Objective, Key Result, and Task has its own dedicated page. Use each page to document your progress and collaborate with your colleagues. For example, if your Key Result is “Retain at least 40% of donors from 2024 to 2025,” you might use that Key Result's page to document your Donor Relations Plan for 2024.

The same idea can be applied on a smaller scale to the Tasks database. Each of the tasks listed in the database will have its own page where team members can take notes, attach materials, ask questions, and document solutions. Essentially, your team will begin to create a living log of how each project develops. This kind of documentation helps identify your organization's impact as well as highlighting areas that need improvement.

The Docs database is where your team can keep living documents featuring meeting notes, memos, brainstorms, research, project plans, company policies, and more. (psst—In the Docs database, you will find a few of my other Notion templates for nonprofits! 💝)

Don't worry about spending ages "figuring this thing out." The Non-profit OS Notion Template includes a 30-min Beginners Guide to Notion, an Onboarding guide, and Onboarding checklists for your team members. You will be up-and-running in no time. 😎
